The scriptural vine and fig tree passage from Micah 4:4 was clearly one that George Washington held dear, as he can be seen referencing it in his correspondence nearly 50 times. It is no surprise, then, to see him referencing it once again in musical form in "Hamilton". I have chosen the New International Version translation for this bookmark, as it is the one that most closely matches both the lyrics, and the phrasing Washington himself seems to have preferred.
